National Talent Forum: Insights on the Digital Era

On September 26, the second edition of the National Talent Forum was held under the theme "Talent 4.0: Meta-Competencies for the Digital Era," bringing together internationally recognized experts to discuss the future of talent. I2Medialab was proud to be present.

The first panel focused on talent-centered synergies and how complementary strengths can be combined. Francisco Ortega, Senior Partner and Leader for Spanish-speaking Latin America at McKinsey & Company, stated: "Organizations today have three possible paths: participate, orchestrate, or build a talent-based ecosystem. Each option has specific implications, but four elements remain common: agility, an entrepreneurial mindset, technological capabilities, and collaboration."

Along the same lines, João Adão, Regional Director for Facebook Southern Cone, commented: "In the past, the companies that succeeded were those with unique know-how. Today, given the rapid pace of change, the companies that achieve the best results are those with complementary capabilities."

The panel also featured Carlos Menéndez Behety, CMO of YPF, and Diego Prado, Director of Corporate Affairs at Toyota Argentina.

The second session, "The Talent Revolution," explored talent as the new driving force of the global economy. Juan Ignacio Uribe, Human Resources Director at Aerolíneas Argentinas, shared his definition of talent: "Talent is the product of three factors: wanting to do it, being able to do it, and achieving results—that is, capabilities, commitment, and outcomes." He added: "As with any product, if one of these factors equals zero, the final result will also be zero."

Meanwhile, Cecilia Giordano, CEO of Mercer Argentina, stated: "Today's workforce includes five different generations, and the paradigms we grew up with are beginning to fade. We must identify the skills required to become part of the process of unlearning in order to learn."

The second panel concluded with remarks from Gabriel Aramouni, President of LIDE Talent, who emphasized several key ideas: "The future has already begun. We must change, starting with ourselves. No meaningful change begins with others." He concluded: "It is our responsibility to create the conditions for talent to flourish, allowing business leaders to rethink their organizations and truly make this world a better place."

The event also featured presentations by Javier Bajer, Founder and CEO of The Talent Foundation (UK); Rodolfo de Vincenzi, President of the Council of Private University Rectors; and Natalia Matteis, Human Resources Director at Indra.

The LIDE Talent Awards were also presented in two categories: Talent Promotion and Talent Management, awarded to physicist Héctor Otheguy and engineer José Luis Roces, respectively.

We would like to thank LIDE Argentina for the invitation to an event that challenges companies to rethink their businesses by recognizing the right talent and aligning it with today's rapid technological advances and constant global transformation.

At I2Medialab, we look forward to participating in future events that are part of LIDE Argentina's annual calendar.
