Wanna Kicks: The Innovative App Transforming Sneaker Shopping

The quest for the perfect pair of sneakers can be a draining endeavor, often leading to hours spent wandering from store to store, only to find out your size is sold out. Wanna Kicks, a groundbreaking app developed by Wannaby, aims to eliminate this frustrating shopping experience by harnessing augmented reality to provide an unparalleled buying journey.

This innovative app is designed to make shopping easier by ensuring users are 100% satisfied with the style and overall look of the sneakers even before making a purchase. By simply pointing their smartphone camera at their feet, the app recognizes them in seconds and overlays a virtual pair of sneakers in real time.

The image is not static. As users move, the virtual sneakers move with them, allowing them to tilt their feet and view the shoes from different angles, including the sides and the heel. While it is clear that this is a digital representation, the results are remarkably realistic and provide an excellent idea of how the sneakers would look when worn.

Wanna Kicks employs sophisticated 3D geometry algorithms combined with neural networks to accurately identify the position of the foot and render the shoe within the surrounding environment. At its launch, the app featured 10 sneaker models in various colors from popular brands, with developers announcing that more models would be added over time. The application works with existing 3D models provided directly by manufacturers, with the final step being the realistic rendering of the shoe on the user’s feet.

Currently, Wanna Kicks is available exclusively for Apple users, although an Android version is expected to be released later in the year. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and contains no advertisements, making it an attractive option for sneaker enthusiasts seeking a seamless shopping experience.
