Science Camp: Transformative Technological Learning for Children
The Science Camp, an initiative by the Argentine North American Cultural Institute (Icana), offers children aged 8 to 12 a unique opportunity to learn about programming, robotics, 3D printing, and more, all while practicing English. This innovative program not only focuses on acquiring technical skills but also promotes critical thinking and creativity, essential aspects in today's world. During the camp, participants become little inventors, designing and creating prototypes that combine knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and programming. Through a hands-on and playful approach, kids have the chance to develop their own robots, an experience that is not only educational but also extremely fun.
Furthermore, the Science Camp includes modules dedicated to creating applications and websites, where young participants can unleash their imagination by storytelling, developing games, and creating interactive animations. This comprehensive approach not only enhances their technical skills but also reinforces their ability to work in teams and solve problems creatively. The camp benefits from the support of recognized organizations such as Google, the Cultural Center of Science, and Neti, adding significant value to the program.
Excursions to places like the C3 (Cultural Center of Science) and the Neti Maker Space provide participants with direct experience with the technologies shaping the future. Beyond technical learning, the Science Camp serves as an ideal space for children to make friends, have fun, and explore new ways of understanding the world around them. The combination of technology and learning English as a tool for accessing knowledge not only prepares them for careers in the tech field but also fosters their curiosity and desire to learn.
